Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847 by master jeweler Louis-François Cartier. While his son Alfred took over the business, it was Alfred’s three sons — Louis, Pierre, and Jacques — who transformed Cartier into a global luxury name. With a longstanding tradition of serving royalty and celebrities, Cartier became known as “the jeweler of kings and the king of jewelers,” a phrase coined by King Edward VII of England. For his 1902 coronation, he commissioned 27 tiaras and granted Cartier a royal warrant in 1904. Similar honors followed from the courts of Spain, Portugal, Russia, Siam, Greece, Belgium, and more. Today, Cartier is celebrated worldwide for its fine jewelry, luxury watches, fragrances, and accessories — all symbols of refinement, excellence, and timeless elegance. From the iconic Love and Juste un Clou collections to the legendary Tank and Santos watches, Cartier continues to define daring design and masterful craftsmanship, maintaining its place as a pioneer in the world of haute joaillerie and horology.
